Reading should take at least 15 minutes each night. Children choose their own reading books, so they may vary in difficulty levels. Children may read aloud to an adult, read with an adult or be read to by an adult. In my opinion, the child reading aloud is by far the most beneficial method of building vocabulary and spelling skills and particularly fluency. Fluency is the key to higher learning.
The star reader sheets need to be signed each night please.
There is a set homework sheet each week. The items on the homework sheets are revision of items already taught in the classroom. Worksheets can be downloaded via the homework menu above.
Completed homework is to be handed in each Friday. Homework not completed by Friday, will be completed at school in the child’s own time.
